Former Vice President Joe Biden is hosting a rally Saturday, March 7 in Kansas City ahead of Missouri’s March 10 democratic primary election.

Former Vice President Joe Biden and a front-runner for the Democratic Party’s nomination will be in Kansas City Saturday, March 7. Biden plans to hold a community event at the National World War I Museum and Memorial, with the event beginning at 4:15 p.m.

Biden will be joined by Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II, one of Biden’s most outspoken supporters in the state. Before he arrives in the city, Biden will first visit St. Louis for an 11 a.m. appearance.

With large African American communities in St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri could be a key state to win as Biden goes up against his biggest competitor senator Bernie Sanders for the nomination when Missouri Democrats hold their March 10 primary.

Currently, Biden has a 16 percentage-point lead over Sanders in a new Morning Consult poll that came out Friday, which means Biden is still gaining momentum following his surprise Super Tuesday victories in 10 of the 14 state primaries that day.

Sanders was initially set to visit Kansas City Monday, March 9 at the Midland Theatre. However, two days after his announcement, his campaign canceled the event due to ‘scheduling constraints.’ Instead, Sanders will only visit St. Louis, Missouri March 9 at 11 a.m. at the Stifel Theatre.
