Wings are not only a great meal, but a game-day necessity. The National Chicken Council predicted that 1.45 billion chicken wings would be eaten by Americans during the 58th Super Bowl that took place on Feb. 12, 2024. I contributed to this estimate and here is my honest review of the wings I tried. 

First, I tried Wingstop’s boneless garlic parmesan wings. These were very flavorful and had a strong parmesan taste that slightly overwhelmed the garlic. The breading was crunchy and the chicken itself was a good size. Because these are a dry rub they are a good option for people who love chicken wings, but not the spice. I, however, could only eat one because they had such an overbearing taste.  

Also from Wingstop, I tried the mild boneless wings. These were ranked 2 out of 5 on their hot meter. They once again had a good crunch, but the size of these buffalo wings was very tiny. I dipped them in the side of ranch and the flavor was great, but not as hot as I would have liked. 

My next stop was Buffalo Wild Wings. I ordered the mild boneless buffalo boneless wings as well as the medium buffalo wings. Both orders were a good size and had a good breading on them. The medium was for those who love spice in their wings and a little sweat on their face. The mild wings were a perfect medium and had a really good buffalo flavor. The fries were also well seasoned with salt and served as the perfect side dish. 

I then went to Minsky’s and ordered the boneless wings with their signature hot sauce. These were very excellent wings. They were a great size with a sufficient breading coat. Minsky’s house-made ranch was also delicious and paired well with the heat of their wings. Overall, these were my favorite wings I tried. 

Lastly, I went to The Peanut to try their famous buffalo wings on the bone. These are served with a side of ranch and some celery to combat the spice. It is a messy meal, but it comes out fresh and the buffalo flavor is spot on. These were a little spicier than I anticipated, but the buffalo flavor was delicious. I can understand why these fresh wings remain a customer favorite.
