Softball lost to St. Teresa’s Academy’s team 18-0 in the fourth inning at home Sept. 17.

“Both teams came out with good energy,” assistant coach Madi Osias said. “STA is a rival of ours so I think we could have come out with a little more fire and put up some runs.”

One of the three new addition coaches, Osais, coached in her first rivalry game this year. She was looking forward to the high energy coming into the game and watching her players play to the best of their potential in a highly competitive game, according to Osais.

“We came out really wanting to win,” senior pitcher Sharon Kramschuster said. “Coming into the game I really wanted to get up on them early and make it close in terms of the score.”

The team came out with high energy, but slowly dropped confidence as the game continued according to Kramschuster. STA scored runs on the team in the first inning and excelled from there into the fourth inning.

“I think we have a lot of room for improvement this year,” senior Olivia Shively said. “I think as a team we did good though as we have grown from the past which we will continue to do in the future.”

Eight games into the season, the team got in a handful of practices and games before their first rival game. The team maintained a high intensity and energy attitude throughout the game as they cheered on and encouraged their teammates from the first to fourth inning.

“We displayed great spirit through the first innings and we have plenty of room to grow for the rest of the season,” Shively said.
