The clothing store, Aerie, was started in 2006 in Greensville, South Carolina. The owners, Jerry and Mark Silverman, first started the popular American Eagle Outfitters clothing establishment. This “sister store” allowed Aerie to gain more attention, and the experience paved a great brand marketing-wise. Aerie translates as “big nest” similar to the “Eagle” in American Eagle. Both are supposed to symbolize the airy, lightweight clothing they produce.
This first item is the Aerie Lumber Jane Waffle Shirt. These are my favorite jackets, and I wear them almost every day. I have the style in both black and their “toasty” color. They have a collar and come slightly oversized which makes for a really cute look. The fabric is very soft but warm and it is nice to have for all seasons. In the summer, I wear it as a cover-up or as a button-up off-the-shoulder top. In the winter season, I wear it as a cute oversized jacket to style with any outfit.
The second item I am reviewing is the High-Waisted Crossover Flare Leggings. These are very flattering and the crossover look makes the leggings less casual. The flare bottoms were slightly too big for me and would occasionally get stuck under my shoes. My favorite thing about these is that the crossover feature accentuates your waist. The upper part of the leggings looks trendy with tops or tanks and the bottom looks good with sweatshirts.
The next piece is the Smoothiez Bodysuit. I have a long sleeve in black and a red one with thinner straps. I wear the black one constantly because it is a very thin material that also provides some warmth. They are a type of shapewear similar to that of Skims. The red one is very cute with a black skirt or jean shorts, but the color is slightly harder to style. I usually wear the black one with green jeans, a skirt, or some sweats. Overall, these are made of a great fabric and can be dressed up or down.
The last piece I’m reviewing is the Real Me Xtra Twist Back Tee. This top is perfect for workouts but also goes with a lot of casual outfits. The fabric is similar to the bodysuits, but it is slightly thicker. I got mine in white and I wear it with the white LuLu Lemon Energy Bra. This top has a clean look to it and the twist in the back is a unique feature. It is on the tighter side, so if you like your tops looser, you may consider sizing up.
