One man. One girlfriend who has no idea. One story. One family. 533 children.

Trying to figure out his seemingly hopeless and uneventful life, David Wozniak, played by acclaimed actor Vince Vaughn, has found out life-changing news. He is the biological father of 533 kids from his multiple sperm donations to a fertility clinic.

The upcoming movie “Delivery Man” is not a movie to pass up. It is an emotional and relatable story to those having difficulty finding themselves, whether you are the father of 533 kids or not.

Based on the original story “Starbuck,” written by Kenn Scott and Martin Petit, “Delivery Man” tackles the subject of the use of sperm donations and the current procedure of in vitro fertilization.

This film solidifies Vaughn as a versatile actor. He can go from the crazy sidekick in the popular movie “Wedding Crashers” to the emotional friend in the movie “The Dilemma” and finally to the main and dynamic character in “Delivery Man.”

In the story, Wozniak is a likable character, but an underachiever with a pretty unsuccessful life. He can barely hold a job at his family store and restaurant, his girlfriend is on the brink of breaking up with him and he owes a lot of people a lot of money that he did not have. Soon, we find out the girlfriend is pregnant and she does not want Wozniak to be in their life.

This really hurts Wozniak, so he goes to his best friend Brett, played by Chris Pratt from “Moneyball” fame, who happens to be raising four kids himself.  Brett’s crazy and loving relationship with his kids really touches Wozniak and makes him jealous of his friend’s “order” in his life because of his children.

But little did he know,Wozniak would soon find out that his abundance of donations to the fertility clinic were not discarded. In fact, he finds himself dad to 533 kids. And what’s even more crazy is that 142 file a lawsuit to find out his identity. Trying to do the right thing, Wozniak courageously opens up their files and tracks some of them down. One is a drug addict, another an aspiring actor, then there’s a basketball player, a singer, a lifeguard and obviously many more.

One critical scene in the movie is when Wozniak finds out one of his children has a mental and physical disorder and he doesn’t know how to deal with it. At first, he only wanted to see him, but a caring nurse convinces him to stay and talk for awhile. He ends up spending the entire day with him. He walked him outside to the garden where they just sat at stared at the butterflies and the flowers. This was an emotional scene because it showed that he wanted to be with his kids because he truly loved them.

This film is powerful, yet comedic. It’s filled with sharp, snappy, and just downright hilarious dialogue. To say this movie is average is a complete understatement. This four-star quality film is nothing to brush aside, but something to cherish.
