Yogurtini Gratifies Tastebuds for Cheap
Walking into a small shop sandwiched between The Mixx and Chipotle on 48th and Main Street, you are immediately greeted with a vivacious environment mostly filled with Rockhurst University and University of Missouri- Kansas City students either studying or just hanging out.
With a clean environment and a friendly staff, Yogurtini, self-serve frozen yogurt, is the perfect place to have a snack or dessert after a salad or burrito. Though the area of the shop is a little small, there is not a problem finding where to sit. Yogurtini goers can sit on the patio and absorb the sun or they can find a table or booth inside.
For 39 cents per ounce, you can fill a 16 oz or 24 oz cup with frozen yogurt and/or a plethora of toppings. If you are new to frozen yogurt, Yogurtini also has mini-paper cups you can use to sample yogurt. There are between 10 and 16 flavors of yogurt you can chose from, but if there is a holiday coming up, there may be one, two featured yogurts for customers to try. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, the featured flavor was Irish Mint.
After you fill your cup with some yogurt, there are at least 30 toppings and syrups you can dress it with. Toppings include fresh fruit, boba balls, cereals, candy, crushed cookies, nuts, and more.
It is easy to knock the cost of your cup down a couple dollars, which makes it affordable for students or families who love frozen yogurt. Mondays through Thursdays from 3-5 pm, you can receive 20 percent off your cup during happy hour. If you sign up for the text alerts, they’ll send messages with random days during the week telling when there will be $4 for an “all you can fill” 16 ounce bowl. By signing up for the rewards program, you can earn 1 point per dollar you spend and 50 points will get you $5 worth of free yogurt.
