It tells his life story of having nothing to becoming a worldwide sensation known for creating the concept of the circus. This bold and astonishing musical is an inspiration and shows the true meaning of dreams coming true.

Although everything about the movie stands out and makes it memorable, a large aspect of this movie is the wide arrangement of incredible music. It strengthens the plot and gives the viewers a true illusion of being in a musical. The music is written by Justin Paul and Benj Pasek, who also wrote the lyrics for the Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning movie “La La Land.”  The music recently won a Golden Globe for the musicals most popular song “This is Me” sung by Keala Settle. The album has also hit Number 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and No. 1 on the iTunes albums chart. The songs range from soft and mellow to lively and entertaining and are bound to appeal all types of people.

Though the music is just one of many different standouts, the overall background of the story was also a big factor in making this movie special and on a different level, relatable. The story of P.T. Barnum is the prime example of never giving up and working hard to achieve lifelong dreams. Barnum had very big dreams and a great imagination that was held back by having a hard upbringing and fending for himself. However, his dreams finally became a reality and his idea of showing off the unique people of the 1800s was empowering. With reaching for his dreams and never caving in, this is the definition of the famous yet cliché saying that dreams really do come true.

This movie would have never portrayed the true meaning of hard work without the amazing and very talented actors and actresses. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya, and many others make the story come to life. The chemistry and emotion adds to the story’s authenticity and the acting smoothly tells the story and keeps the viewer’s interest.

“The Greatest Showman” definitely deserves five stars. The movie covers all aspects of any great musical and is a must-see movie of 2018. Everything from the characters and story to the amazing soundtrack, this movie cannot disappoint.
