Chick-fil-A halts dine-in seating amid coronavirus pandemic.

In response to the stay at home order, Chick-Fil-A has done a great job adapting to drive-thru and carryout only.

Upon arriving at Chick-Fil-A on 135th Street during the busy lunch hour there was one line that appeared to have around 10-12 cars in it. Initially, it looked like it would take a while to get through the line, however it took no longer than 10 minutes. They accomplished this by having two workers taking orders prior to reaching the single speaker. The workers were friendly and well trained.

Another way they expedited the drive-thru process was by having customers pay when ordering with a worker ahead of the pickup window. However, one drawback of ordering with a worker is that you may only pay ahead using a credit card. Those using cash must pay at the drive-thru window.

Another way that allows the line to move quickly is ordering through the Chick-fil-a app. People can order, pay and move quickly through the line with little delay.

Overall Chick-Fil-A’s new process is very well executed. Their employees work hard and it has paid off as their drive-thru takes only minutes to get through even during their busiest hours.
