Fulmer Fidelity Fiasco
Ned Fulmer, now former member of The Try Guys was, fired due to cheating on his wife with an employee.

The Try Guys have gone from four members to three after Ned Fulmer was fired.
The internet’s now former favorite husband Ned Fulmer was known for his signature catch phrase of “My Wife” and using every chance to talk about his wife Ariel Fulmer in Try Guys videos. That all changed on Tuesday Sept. 27, 2022 when it was announced that Fulmer was no longer working for The Try Guys due to cheating on his wife with an employee.
To understand the severity and complexity of this issue let’s get some background information. The Try Guys consisted of four, now three members Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfeld, Keith Habersberger, and formally Fulmer. They formed in 2014 at Buzzfeed making short videos of them as the name implies, trying things. With each video getting millions of views, like “The Try Guys Try A Lie Detector Test” released in 2017 and has 21 million views, they quickly gained popularity. In 2018 they all left BuzzFeed to create their own independent channel and company called Second Try LLC mainly to gain independence for revenue and creative purposes. All four of them invested in the company and ironically their first office was in the Fulmer’s former home where they created their company from the ground up. Currently The Try Guys have 7.87 million subscribers and a staff of around twenty to help produce two YouTube videos a week, multiple podcasts, and social media content.
Allegations of Fulmer’s infidelity all started when a blurry image of Fulmer kissing his employee Alexandria Herring at some sort of bar was sent to The Try Guys via social media. This happened shortly after Labor Day 2022 and led to a very long internal interview of Fulmer where he confirmed this relationship had been going on for some time which resulted in him being fired.

The Try Guys made a statement on their Instagram, and so did Fulmer and his wife individually announcing that he would be leaving the company. Fulmer claimed in his post that he had lost focus and admitted to having another relationship and apologized to all, but specifically Ariel.

The internet obviously buzzed from the drama from thousands of comments on these posts, to TikTok videos, leading lots to share their opinions on a personal matter for the Try Guys and the Fulmer family.
“Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me- it means a lot,” Ariel Fulmer said on her Instagram. “Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family, and all we request right now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”
Many have shared their opinions that Ariel shouldn’t even try to amend their relationship, and leave Ned . The internet seems to forget that it’s not just a relationship, but a family as Ned and Ariel are parents to their two sons: four year old Wesley and two year old Finn. They are taking the steps they think are necessary in order to try to save their family not in the public eye.
“And while we consider this a company matter, there’s just also a family at the center of this,” Habersberger said in the most recent video titled “What Happened.”
This video begins to explain what happened from Lee Yang, Kornfeld, and Habersberger’s point of view and comes just six days after the announcement that Fulmer would be leaving. In this 5 minute video which was released on Monday Oct. 3 after a break from their regular social media and podcast schedule.
They give an overview of what happened and they express their feelings about how they will move saying “That they are working to edit Fulmer out of any already filmed videos that will be released in the upcoming months besides branded videos.” They discuss how it’s going to be hard to watch videos they loved creating, and even their new TV show on Food Network called “No Recipe Roadtrip,” a spin off of their popular format Without A Recipe.
In this video you see that it’s difficult for them to talk about the incident as it occurred for an extended period of time without their knowledge or the staff knowing. It’s hard for them to stomach that Ned would let alone cheat on his wife, but with someone that he was the boss of at the company that he now formally co-owns.
“We were obviously incredibly shocked and deeply hurt by all of this,” Lee Yang said. “This is someone who we’d built a brand and a company with for 8 years.” (He pauses here and stops himself from saying something). “We feel saddened, not just personally, but on behalf of our staff and our fans who believed in us.
They relay how sorry they are that this happened and how fans must be going through similar feelings towards him and the change in the company. The Try Guys will continue to post their content the best way they find possible after they adjust. As a Try Guys fan I know that they will never be the same, but I am disgusted by Fulmer’s actions and know that they did the right thing in firing him. I hope The Try Guys can try to move past this, and continue to make the great content they create just with one less member.
P.S. As a mega Try Guys fan I think I will miss Ariel the most because she is one of the co-hosts of the You Can Sit With Us, a podcast where she is the co-host of with the other spouses of The Try Guys as well as their producer Rachel. I have always related to and looked up to Ariel as a person and am deeply saddened for her and this scenario. I sympathize with the conflicts I know that The Try Guys and their company are currently in regards to Ariel as they navigate to amend their relationship.
