“The Summer I Turned Pretty”
Hit Prime Video show “The Summer I Turned Pretty” follows sixteen-year-old Belly (Isabella) Conklin, who spends every summer at her mother’s best friend, Susannah’s, beach house with her mother and brother. This summer, Belly is excited to reunite with her lifelong crush, Conrad, and his brother, Jeremiah. This summer will be different because both the brothers have changed their feelings for her. This show is rated 16+ (TV-MA).
“How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days”
“How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days” follows journalist Andie Anderson as she tries pushing the boundaries of her new piece about how to get a man to leave in 10 days or less. Her editor, Lana Jong, loves the idea, and Andie goes off to find a suitable candidate she can use for this experiment. She finds Ben Berry as her candidate, but he thinks he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Little did they know their plans backfire. You can rent this movie on Prime Video and is rated PG-13.
“The Office”
“The Office” is a 2005 sitcom that follows the workers at a paper supply company Dunder Muffin, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Michael Scott is the Regional Manager of the branch, and alongside him is Dwight Schrute Assistant to the Regional Manager. Apart from comedy, there is also an extreme love triangle between receptionist Pam Beesly, warehouse worker and high school sweetheart Roy Anderson, and salesman Jim Halpert. You can watch “The Office” on Netflix and it is rated TV-14.
“The Rookie”
Newly divorced John Nolan, from Pennsylvania, moves to Los Angeles, California, and is a rookie in the LAPD. He joins the police force in order to pursue his dream after a life-changing incident when he helps police officers during a bank robbery in his hometown of Foxburg. He is the oldest rookie in the force in his mid-40s. “The Rookie” is a crime show with 5 seasons and season 6 will come out in September or October of 2024. You can find this show on Hulu and is rated TV-14.
“Project Runway”
“Project Runway” is a reality TV show. This show is a fashion competition that takes place in New York City. It starts with 12 aspiring designers who have to make an original piece in 2 or less days. Each week the designers have to fit and dress a model and think of makeup and hairstyle as well. A panel of judges will exhibit their work and eliminate one person and choose one winner who will get immunity for the next challenge. You can watch this show on Peacock and is rated TV-PG
“Heartstopper”
Netflix show “Heartstopper” follows a relationship between two teenage boys, Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, who attend an all-boy school. Nick is a star player for the school’s rugby team and has no feelings for Charlie in the beginning of the show. Charlie is ‘outed’ as gay. He then has to deal with a boy, Ben, who is an abusive, controlling homophobic bully. Heartstopper is rated TV-14.
“Gossip Girls”
“Gossip Girls” follows the lives of privileged teenagers on the Upper East Side of New York City. Serena Van Der Woodsen is a beautiful, blonde socialite that everyone knows. Blair Waldorf is Serena’s best friend but everything always has to be about Serena and not Blair. Ever since Serena got back from boarding school Nate Archibald, Blair’s boyfriend, has been acting strange. Blair’s ex-boyfriend, Chuck Bass is a rich and arrogant person. Lastly, Nate’s friend Daniel Humphrey, is a lonely boy from Brooklyn, NY, who nobody knows. You can watch the series on Max and it’s rated TV-14.
“Elemental”
In a city where air, land, fire, and water residents live together, a fiery young girl named Ember Lumen, and a go-with-the-flow boy named Lake Ripple, met when a water pipe burst in Ember’s father’s convenience store, and Wade came through the pipe. Throughout the movie, they discover how much they have in common. In the end, they fall in love. The movie is still in theaters, but on September 13, 2023, you can watch it on Disney+, and is rated PG.
“The Bachelorette”
The reality TV show “The Bachelorette” follows a single bachelorette who chooses who her future husband will be. 30 guys are “fighting” for her love. At the end or beginning of a certain episode, the Bachelorette will pass out her roses to each guy at the Rose Ceremony. When it gets to the last 5 they’ll all take a tour through Europe and then the Bachelorette will choose her man. You can find The Bachelorette on Hulu and it’s rated TV-14
