As a junior in the midst of the busiest quarter of the year, I haven’t had as much time to watch quality TV shows lately. Because of this, a recent favorite of mine has been the Netflix reality TV show Selling Sunset. This chaotic, award-winning mess of a show has seven seasons of drama, perfect for binge-watching.
Selling Sunset takes place in Los Angeles, California. It follows the agents at luxury real estate agency The Oppenheim Group. Every scene is like a fashion show for the Oppenheim Group realtors. Outfits featuring belt-skirts, Chanel basketball purses, and neon colors are common, and the fashion seems like it gets crazier every season.
The Oppenheim Group (which is actually a real brokerage) has also opened up two other offices outside of L.A., one in Cabo, Mexico, and the other in Orange County, California. The Oppenheim office in Orange County has recently been given a spinoff show called Selling the OC, featuring different agents in a new office, but maintaining the “Selling Sunset vibe.”
I’d recommend this show to anyone who loves reality TV. Objectively, it’s definitely not a good show, but I’d personally put it in my top ten favorites. I give Selling Sunset 6 out of 5 stars and I really hope they come out with at least seven more seasons of it.
