TikTok is a big part of our generation. It creates trends, dances and memes that we can all enjoy. Some of the creators of these trends are influencers. They’ll tell you their favorite brands and exactly where to buy them. 

Another thing that can influence us is the TikTok shop. Now the things that people are telling you to buy are linked in the video. Anything you want is one click away.TikTok shop comes with good and bad. The upside is that things can be very cheap and are easily accessible. But there are always some horror stories. There was a Tiktoker who bought a detangling brush because it was only one dollar and it came broken. This shows how sometimes these things can be too good to be true. 

There have also been times when influencers have lied about the true quality of products. They will oversell you on it so they can make a profit from brand deals. This adds to the gamble you have to make when you purchase. There are also not as many reviews like on other sites like Amazon so you can’t see if people are being paid to sell the product. 

With that being said, there still are some upsides to social media shopping influence. You could find your next homecoming dress or the latest outfit trend. You can also find very honest reviews on products that aren’t in TikTok shop. If someone said they received only one shoe in their shoebox, you would want to know. 

In our generation online shopping is very popular and will likely stay around. This means we have to think before we buy. We can’t just know if we like it or not. But, it is also a very helpful tool, like if you need a last minute costume or an outfit that is not in store. So it is good to have a balance of impulse buys or having to say bye.
