A very famous band called One Direction that became famous through a show called “The X Factor.” The band was able to get third place on the show, which caused their careers to skyrocket.

The group signed with one of the show’s hosts Simon Cowell. Then they began to start releasing music, with some of their early hits being “One Thing” and “Over Again.” This led to them winning many awards and even performed at the American Music Awards in 2014.

The British band also began to become very popular in America and made their debut album, “Up All Night. This topped the charts in the US and 15 other countries. 

Everything was going great. They were going on tours, continuing to win awards and had many hits. Then in 2015, band member Zayn Malik left the group. Allegedly there was tension with him and the group. He wanted to become the first member to record an independent album.

In 2016 the band decided to fully break up. All of the members wanted to try to have an independent career.

 This led to pop star Harry Styles becoming very popular with his debut album “Harry Styles.” Since then he has starred in four feature films and was the first male cover star of Vogue. 

Payne gained popularity through his first hit single “Strip That Down for Me.” It reached number three in the UK charts and was also very popular in America. On Oct. 16, 2024, Payne died tragically by falling off a hotel balcony, sending the internet into shock. Recent information surfaced that he struggled with drug abuse, which played a part in his death
