On Jan. nine Clayton McGenney, 36, Ricky Johnson, 38, and David Harrington, 37 were found dead in their friend Jordan Willis’ backyard, after watching the Kansas City Chiefs v.s. Los Angeles Chargers game on Jan. seven.
The men were found by McGenney’s fiancée after she had been attempting to get into contact with him for several days.
McGenney’s fiancée had been banging on Willis’ door for several minutes before deciding to break in through a window in the basement of the house while trying to find McGeeney.
According to Willis’ attorney, John Picerno, Willis had been unable to hear her banging on the door because he was, “Two people came to his house; however, he did not hear them as he sleeps with air buds and a loud fan. One of those people, the wife of one of the deceased, tried to reach him via Facebook messenger; unfortunately, he did not see this message until after the police contacted him.” Picerno said in an interview with CBS news
Two of the men were found in the backyard while the other was found on the back porch, seemingly frozen to death according to Kansas City Police Department officers.
“Upon further investigation, officers located two other dead bodies in the backyard,” KCPD said in a statement to the media. “There were no obvious signs of foul play observed at or near the crime scene.”
No arrests have been made.
“Jordan had absolutely nothing to do with their deaths. He does not know the timing or manner of their deaths, nor does he know how or when they exited his house,” Picerno said to CBS News. “He had no knowledge that they remained in his backyard or that they needed medical attention. Had he known, he certainly would have called for help. The last time he saw them was when they left his house, and he went to bed.”
This is an ongoing investigation.
