The Best of NYFW

From Tom Ford to Sarah Staudinger, the looks from the 2024 New York Fashion Week are full of creativity and glam.

This year’s New York Fashion Week focused on old classics with a modern twist, bringing back florals, long dresses, and vintage corsets. Here are the best runway designs and designers from 2024 New York Fashion Week.

  • Last, but certainly not least, Prabal Gurung graced the runway with his creativity as this piece entered the fashion show. This was by far one of the most interesting looks in 2024’s New York Fashion Week. Its use of corsets, contrast, and flow created a mesmerizing piece. The contrast of the light, airy tool and tight, shiny leather give the audience’s eyes so much to take in. In addition the color scheme of black, white, and a bright teal blue create a stunning visual. I loved this piece, and thought its experimentation with fabric and color was inspiring.

  • Carolina Herrera stunned the runways with bright spring florals this year. My favorite was this bright blue skirt and top pairing. The contrast of the flowy draping skirt and tight fitted top create a beautiful juxtaposition on the runway. Additionally, the sunshine yellow heels and red earring add another ray of airiness into the look.

  • Sarah Staudinger astonished me with this elegant look. I adore everything about this dress, from its bright and unique floral pattern, to its leathery top. The contrast of the bright colors against the black dress immediately catches the eye, and each of the flowers stitched on are intricate and gorgeous. The tool, almost see-through like fabric on the bottom of the dress fashions a beautiful flow. Overall, Staudinger stunned me with her designs this year, and this was one of my favorite looks of the runway.

  • This glimmering Tom Ford dress is the epitome of high end glam. Although I don’t love the way the slit in the leg is cut, the shimmer of the sequence and the satin inner lining create an unforgettable piece. The cutout is tailored well and looks tastefully done. The dress’s matching hoop earrings add an element of creativity to the outfit, and the geometric platform heels create an elegant atmosphere.

  • Staudinger once again outdid herself with this warm yet elegant flower dress. Similar to the previous dress, this look sports stitched flowers upon a tool-like fabric and two spaghetti straps attaching the dress at the shoulders. However, this look also contrasts greatly with the former, as its neutral colors and cowl neckline are the opposite of the strict leather and shining black of her other piece. This look could be dressed up or down, whether it’s for a summer picnic to a red carpet picture.
