Students Drive By Example
The Students Against Destructive Decisions club welcomed a guest speaker on Feb. 17. Douglas Horn, former Sion student Mary Horn’s father, is the founder of the Drive By Example foundation, which works with high schools and colleges around the Kansas City area. They help to spread awareness of the problem of destructive driving, and the deaths and injuries that follow.
“I think that this program is very helpful to our club message. We are working on multiple ways to spread awareness throughout the school and get our message across,” S.A.D.D. Club President Emma Romano said.
The club is now working with the Drive By Example group to revamp the signs in the Sion parking lot, and provide a simulator that will give students a car ride from the view of a drunk, distracted, or reckless driver.
