Bringing Back Basics
We all know the power of mix and matched basics, the subtle style of monochromes, and the elegant look of simple color combinations. This fall, the popular ‘capsule closet’ has been elevated, mixing in high-end and structured cardigans, while still keeping the neutral colors that staple minimalist looks.
“Lacy, oh Lacy”
Sheer came hot off the runways and into carts in the past couple years. This fall, lace incorporated sheer material was all the rage, and its effects can be seen in dress styles, skirts, and even socks. Even if you yourself aren’t a lacy fan, your nearest Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, or Garage is bound to have lace fringed clothing on their racks.
Denim, Denim, Denim
Denim has become increasingly popular, with oversized jean jackets, denim midi skirts, and denim on denim outfits coming into fashion. Although the full denim outfits are not a personal favorite, the individualism and experimentation coming with the new ways denim is being used is exciting to watch.
Go With a Gray
This year, deep grays graced the runways. From knit gray cardigans, to gray structured blazers, this neutral color has become all the rage in the fashion world. Although hues vary from slate to stone, and brands from Miu Miu to Fendi, gray has taken the fashion industry by storm. The next time you go to your nearest clothing store, look out to see if new gray clothing has been put on the racks
Leave it to Leather
When in doubt for a nice dinner skirt, or a jacket for a chilly fall day, leather is never a bad option. The leather jacket coming into style is no surprise, and for the past few years, leather jackets have even been considered a closet staple by some. However, latte colored leather made an appearance on the runways, and is spilling onto the world outside, as people stray from their traditional blacks, to different fits and color of the classic leather jacket.
