There is no doubt University of Iowa Women’s Basketball star Caitlin Clark has dominated the women’s basketball industry. Clark is the NCAA leading scorer of all time making over 400 baskets. Her swift passes and unbeatable three pointers have drawn the attention of the media. Her skills are so captivating, some now claim she should now join the Men’s National Basketball Association.
“I’m convinced that Caitlin Clark should play for an NBA team, not a WNBA team,” Rob Parker said. “The NBA right now is soft and allows almost anyone to take 3-point shots, and I believe she could put up 3’s in today’s NBA.”
After Fox Sports Radio News posted that statement on twitter, Parker received lots of backlash especially from his co-host Chris Boussard.
“This is embarrassing for you,” Boussard said. “Speed and quickness is something an NBA player needs. Caitlin Clark is 6 feet 154 pounds of awesomeness but she shouldn’t be compared to an NBA player.”
During a recent interview with ABC news, Clark talks about her future plans after her Senior year comes to a close.
“I will miss my time as Iowa dearly,” Clark said. “But I also am very ready for a new chapter and a new challenge in my life.”
Clark has only known the state of Iowa her whole life, and representing her hometown was something very special for her.
“Iowa is something I have known all my life, I wanted to do something that has never been before,” Clark said. “I wanted to represent my hometown on the big screen ever since I was a little girl.”
Clark has always been talked about heavily in the media, but recent increased coverage on her has stemmed around the March Madness Women’s Basketball tournament. On April 1st, Iowa beat former national champions LSU to head to the final four. Clark dropped forty one points and had twelve assists.
“We never hung our heads throughout the game when it didn’t go our way,” Clark said. “Leaving this group and going onto my professional career is something I am definitely looking forward to but I have some things I have to get done first.”
That “thing” Clark is referring to is winning a National championship. Despite the recent media craze around what her professional career will look like, Clark is focused on getting through the tournament first.
“We want to win two more games and we definitely can do that,” Clark said. “It’s always about being present though, and where your feet are, it’s not always worrying about the next thing.”
